Pyatigorsk. The foot of Mount Mashuk. Morning of July 15, 1841. Two days ago – friends, overnight – irreconcilable enemies. A few hours remain until the duel between Lermontov and his friend Martynov. Relatives, friends, acquaintances of the duelists are trying to prevent the duel.
