The peaceful order of the Sisters of No Mercy are forced to avenge the murder of one of their own when an evil priest and his co-hort 'Saint' Theresa use the order as a cover for drugs and prostitution. Sisters of No Mercy spoofs nunsploitation movies while melding movie making techniques with modern socio-political overtones and Internet found footage to create a viewing experience of meta-awareness. Sisters of No Mercy chronicles our madcap adventures as we try and nurture and develop the community needed to sustain our independent theatres and video stores here in Chicago. It's also an introduction to a little-known sub-genre of exploitation cinema called Nunsploitation. Sex! Violence! Nuns!
Live at the Royal Albert Hall is a live album by Emerson, Lake & Palmer. It was recorded at a show at the Royal Albert Hall during the Black Moon tour in October 1992. Highlights of the album include a 9 minute outfreakage of "Tarkus", the song "Black Moon", and "Finale", which is a three song medley.
VOICES was a concert held on February 18th, 2006, at the Pacifico Yokohoma Conference and Convention Center in Japan. It featured vocal arrangements from the Final Fantasy series, including an acapella doo-wop medley, orchestral versions of the series' ballads, and a symphonic metal finale performed by the Black Mages. This DVD contains the entire concert.
In February 2017, Midnight Oil took to Sydney Harbour and announced The Great Circle World Tour. The Circle would begin where the band started out, in Sydney’s pubs, then circumnavigate the globe. It was to be their first tour in over 15 years. On November 17, 2012, Oscar-winning French actress Marion Cotillard joined the Barcelona Symphony and Catalonia National Orchestra for a performance of Arthur Honegger’s oratorio Joan of Arc at the Stake (Jeanne d'Arc au Bûcher) at the L'Auditori de Barcelona in Spain, broadcast live on Medici.tv. By Swiss composer Arthur Honegger, Jeanne d'Arc au Bûcher (1938) is an imposing oratorio. The libretto is a highly original creation by French poet and playwright Paul Claudel, who dramatises the last moments of the martyr's life. Originally written for actress Ida Rubinstein, the oratorio is written as a flashback in which Joan recalls her life, just before she dies. Honegger creates visually evocative ambiances and fills the orchestra with new sounds (saxophones, ondes Martenot). The initial prologue to the piece was added in 1944 as a symbol of the resistance during the Nazi occupation of France: again, Joan goes beyond her own story.
