The film includes three short stories based on the stories of Mikhail Zoshchenko: "Crime and Punishment", "Fun Adventure", and "Wedding Event" about the negative phenomena of the provincial life of the young country of the Soviets: stupidity, drunkenness, money-grubbing, lack of spirituality.

While a plague devastates the peasantry, a mad prince hosts a masquerade ball for the noble class in his castle. A long-lost twin, hidden among the lower class, enters the castle and is received into a decadent world of orgies, opium, power schemes, revenge, and decapitations.

Wicker

On the outskirts of a village by the sea, lives a Fisherwoman; smelly, single and perpetually ridiculed. One day, fed up with her stuffy, small-minded neighbors, she commissions herself a husband to be made from wicker. In an otherwise conservative town, this unconventional romance sparks outrage, jealousy and chaos.
