The stage musical star, also known for her appearances in the popular TV show, 'Glee', captured live in performance in Toronto with the backing of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony. Menzel performed a number of songs from stage musicals and popular classical pieces in Koerner Hall, part of Toronto's Royal Conservatory of Music, with the support of conductor Marvin Hamlisch, pianist Rob Mounsey and the 52-piece symphony.

While the Beach Boys recorded songs for their SMiLE project in 1966 and 1967, the album was never completed. In 2004, Brian Wilson, his band and lyricist Van Dyke Parks re-assembled and re-recorded the material as a song cycle and album titled Brian Wilson Presents SMiLE, performed here in its entirety at a venue in Los Angeles.

Known for her powerful voice and uncompromising style, she rose to fame with the original recording of “Hound Dog” and later wrote “Ball & Chain,” a song that gained iconic status through Janis Joplin’s rendition.
