Michael Wardian had a simple dream: to run across the United States. For 25 years he prepared, conquering every running challenge imaginable. Setting out to achieve his dream, he uses everything he’s learned to meet unexpected challenges within himself, his two-man crew and the people he encounters along the way.

On the weekend of May 24th, 2025, we welcomed 132 runners from across the globe to the hallowed grounds of Bare Ranch for the inaugural Go One More Ultra. Situated on a 4.2 mile loop that must be completed every hour on the hour until only one runner remains. Creating a story and race that gripped the world.

For years, sports managers have been bringing African athletes to Europe to run in marathons with promises of potential prize money and a top career. For many it’s a means of escaping poverty. But what price do the marathon runners themselves pay? Long-distance running is among the toughest disciplines in the world. Professional marathon runners battle over seconds in a race more than 40km long - seconds that are often worth huge sums of money. Running has become a business. The prize money for a major event can be in five figures. Participants have to be world-class athletes to win these amounts.

Three years after having his right leg amputated six inches above the knee after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma, Fox set out to cover more than a marathon’s distance each day until he reached the shores of Victoria, British Columbia. Anonymous at the start of his journey, Fox steadily captured the heart of a nation with his Marathon of Hope. However the 21-year old BC native's goal was not fame, but to spread awareness and raise funds for cancer research. After 143 days and two-thirds of the way across Canada, with the eyes of a country watching, Fox’s journey came to an abrupt end when newly discovered tumors took over his body

Long-distance running allowed Wesley Korir to escape the grinding poverty of Kenya. But after winning multiple American marathons, including taking running's most cherished prize - the Boston Marathon, he risks it all and returns home to help his fellow Kenyans create better lives for themselves. In what promises to be the most challenging race of his career, Wesley takes on a well-financed, big-party candidate to run for a seat in Kenyan parliament. attempting to balance the frenzy of campaigning with the demands of marathon training.

Joy Johnson would wake up before each dawn, pour herself a cup of coffee, lace up her running shoes, and read this Bible verse from Isaiah: “They shall run and not be weary.” This ritual went on for more than two decades but didn’t start until Joy was 59. That’s when she first took up running, after raising her four children. Joy would go on to run 25 New York City Marathons, the last in 2013 at the age of 86.
