One minute you're biting your nails at world events, and the next you're laughing in impotence. Michael Schøt has spent most of his stand-up career in the space between these two emotions. “Én Time På Huset” is a stand-up show by and with Martin Nørgaard. It was recorded at Huset i Magstræde during Zulu Comedy Festival 2013, in front of 65 people on a small intimate stage. The show - you could also call it a special - is a hodgepodge of the best material not released anywhere else, including a club tour set from 2012. So it's not a big, expensive production from a 20-year-old comedian, but a humble little show from a comedian just starting out.
In the show Things From My Mouth, the audience gets to meet Ruben in version 2.0. Although his distinctive hairstyle still battles with his brain over who curls the most, it's a more grown-up version of the popular man you meet in 2018. He still generously shares his life experiences and embarrassing moments, and in a world where fitting in is unhealthily important, Ruben is also different, awkward and damn sensitive. All these personal traits touch Ruben in the upcoming show - where you should expect the unexpected when he takes the stage. He's older, but still a bit of a goofball!
It's my first real one-man show and it was really an amazing experience to be on tour with it. I think I took a chance with some of the topics, but luckily I have the best fans in the world who made it an amazing experience to do the show every single night. I always find it hard to say what a stand-up show is about, because in my world a stand-up show doesn't have to be about one thing. And neither does “INDEBRÆNDT”. It's about me. It's about society. It's about my view of society. And then it's about me becoming a father, my views on feminism, politics, drugs and the end of the world. But I think you should just buy the show and see it for yourself!

A stand-up show steeped in irony and sarcasm - to the extent that there is a difference. I don't really know when I'm being ironic, when I'm being sarcastic or when I'm being sincere - and what the difference really is. It sounds like a problem for my psychologist, but they're expensive... It's just easier to write a stand-up show.
