Alex Jaffray, music columnist for Télématin, shares his passion for music, which allowed him, as a child, to communicate with notes rather than words. He is a sampler packed with music and jokes that allow him to travel from prehistory to Gilbert Montagné, from Daft Punk to Booba, via the Eagles, Ennio Morricone, and Maître Gims. Recorded on June 26, 2025, at the Théâtre des Sources in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, in the Hauts-de-France region.

Fuck TV was a comprehensive and experiential audio-visual presentation comprised of ten episodes. Aired to a passive and unsuspecting audience on San Francisco’s public access channel from 1997 to 1998, each episode of Fuck TV was dedicated to a specific topic, combining video collage and cut-up techniques set to a harsh electronic soundtrack. The resultant overload of processed imagery and visceral sound was unlike anything presented on television before or since. This DVD set marks the first time that this show has been made available since its original airing.
After concluding the now-legendary public access TV series, The Pain Factory, Michael Nine embarked on a new and more subversive public access endeavor: a collaboration with Scott Arford called Fuck TV. Static Discharge is composed of abstractions created from signal interference. The picture frame is continuously disrupted, as textured lines of feedback distort any form of representation. The flickering movement appears as if fed by an electric current with a faulty conductor - the electronic waves seem to split and repeat themselves without fully transmitting. This is a composition of video noise that creates pulsating tension, a s electricity grinds with flesh, revealing the harsh beauty inherent in a mechanical medium.
DRIFT is a collaboration started in 1991 between visual artist Leah Singer and musician and poet Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth. DRIFT is an immersive sonic/visual environment consisting of music, sounds and texts by Ranaldo in response to two 16mm analytical film projectors performed in real time by Singer. Much as a DJ scratches a vinyl record, Singer manipulates her films in a live improvisation with Ranaldo's guitar, poetry and soundscapes.
