One of three films made as part of the multi-media project ‘Doem, Dood & Verderf’ (2017) by Mees Joachim, chronicling the most traumatic moments from three of their prior long-term relationships. This multi-media project took the form of twelve 100x65cm illustrations, 4 per relationship, an EP released as Pink Boah (Zalmroze in collaboration with Jerboah) and three experimental films backed by the three title tracks from the Pink Boah EP. Each of the three films is a self-projected character study, with the three relationships being depicted and acted out, by the artist and a placeholder model, through physical performance and touch. Visually it is most in line with the artist’s photographic series "The Gaze Upon The Male Gaze”, made for Sauce Magazine, with both the films and that photo series being highly sexploitative in nature.

Don Quixote (Kirov Ballet)

This performance by the Kirov has been hailed as one of the greatest large cast ballet productions ever recorded on film. The tremendous resources of the Kirov Ballet flash and dash through the four acts of joyous Petipa and Gorsky choreography making Don Quixote a thrilling visual treat. This delightful spectacle features the great Soviet dancers Tatyana Terekhova and Farouk Ruzimatov as the lovers Kitri and Basilio. Don Quixote is performed by Kirov star Vladimir Ponomaryov. Is It A Plaisir

El amor de mi bohío

El Amor de M Bohio, which translates to "The Love of My Hut" (or shack ) and it comes from the lyrics o a popular love ballad of the same name. It is Director Juan Orol's tale of a violent love triangle where two farm hands out to prove who is the most macho, and thereby win the affections of a woman. This tragic love story takes place on a tropical plantation located just outside of Havana, where its workers are housed in small, thatched-roof "bohios". The two rival suitors are driven by passion for the girl they both love, and soon engage in a series of challenges designed to help this young woman choose the right guy in the end. These competitions start out to include simple and benign activities at first, like dancing, singing and dueling guitars, or betting on the winning bird at a cock-fight, However, they soon escalate to more violent activities, like public brawls, and saber dueling, which set life changing events into motion for everyone.
