The Trail of Toni - Toni Gobbi from Citizen to Mountain Guide is a documentary on Antonio, known as Toni, Gobbi (1914-1970), a renowned Italian mountaineer and mountain guide. It is a universal story of a man who followed his passion for the mountains with vision and determination, making it his life and leaving a legacy that, over 50 years later, withstands the test of time.

Join two brave British lads, Pete Whittaker and Tom Randall, as they take on the decidedly American sport of climbing bloody, painful and often dangerous cracks that require wedging body parts into places they weren't meant to be. Randall and Whittaker's ultimate goal is to make the first ascent of a renowned offwidth test-piece known as Century Crack, which looms above the forgotten lands deep in the Utah desert. If they can achieve this unlikely climb from under the noses of the competitive Americans, it will be a coup for these young up-starts, but the odds are stacked against them.

This is part of what is perhaps the most difficult route in the Alps, the " Karma " route. The film also portrays the Huber brothers outside the world of mountains and climbing. The viewer will also get to know them as musicians and they will talk about the past, long-gone successes and failures. In addition to a very personal story, you will also see never-before-seen 3D images of extreme beauty and depth.

Lost in the Wilderness

The life and travels of adventurer Naomi Uemura, who disappeared in Alaska in 1984. A member of the first Japanese expedition to reach the summit of Mt Everest in 1970, Uemura also accomplished several "firsts". He was the first man to reach the North Pole solo, climb Denali solo, and float down the Amazon river solo. In the film, Uemura returns to Tokyo after a stint in Siorapaluk in Northern Greenland. In Tokyo, he reconnects with an old friend and, over coffee, shares his life story - from his days as a college dropout to his successful expedition to the top of Everest.

It is 1 p.m. on June 30, 1982, when Christophe Profit, 24, shows up at the foot of Les Drus with his pof bag, his climbing shoes and nothing else.
