Darren Aronofsky’s AFI short opens with angry slacker Dave sitting in a dreary, empty junkyard. Dave stares into space, sips beer, and beats the hell out of a cracked guitar. We quickly realize the emptiness of the dump parallels the emptiness of Dave’s life which consists of smoking weed, staring at television screens and watching school children. Dave’s friend Pete is shortly introduced, along with their friend, Ari, who despite calling her pals losers, doesn’t seem to accomplishing much herself. These three are going nowhere fast. They’re the amoebas of life… protozoa….

But with Bill's responsibility to entertain comes certain jealousy from Igor, who thinks he's better suited for the job. And from Doug, who just craves the respect it brings. Today, dressed with a shirt he found in the free-box, and with hope in his heart, Doug sets out to gain that respect.

The Supporter

The Supporter is a short film that provides an insight into Swedish supporter culture. Through its main character Axel we are drawn into a world of dependency, affirmation and violence. Hooliganism is an ever-present phenomenon, reported on daily in the media. We see how a more organized criminality blends in with families with children and ordinary fans. And all the time we ask the question: 'how close is this violence to ourselves?'
