Bench Talkies

Bench Talkies is a compilation of six films from six filmmakers. The one recognizable name is, of course, Karthik Subbaraj, while the others are all aspiring directors. The films deal with various subjects and are in different genres and are of varying quality.

Faces of Schlock

Four tales of terror: "Blood Witch": A twisted Goth girl summons a murderous seventeenth century witch to exact gory revenge on anyone who crosses her path. "Mike Wuz Here": Night shift workers at an old movie theater are terrorized by the ghost of a former employee who committed suicide in the building. "One Foot In The Grave": When a beautiful young dancer loses one of her feet due to malpractice, she uses black magic to bring the severed appendage back to life. "Slay Ride": Left behind by her family on Christmas eve, a teenage delinquent punk chick quickly becomes surrounded by murder and mayhem.

Horrorween

Some young entrepreneurs strike it rich and then move into a high class neighborhood. They try to impress their new celebrity neighbors by having a haunted house.

Occhio, malocchio, prezzemolo e finocchio

The film is divided into two episodes, The Hair of Disgrace and The Magician, both focusing on the theme of the occult and beliefs.

An anthology feature film that puts a uniquely dark and original spin on some of the most iconic and beloved holidays of all time by challenging our folklore, traditions and assumptions.

Horror and Hamsters

Twisted horror segments intertwined with cute, fluffy, family-friendly hamster videos. The filmmakers were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.

Ghost Ghost Ghost!

A film containing four short horror stories. The first involves a dangerous ritual done to capture the image of ghost The second story is about a deadly ghost which returns to attack the person who killed him. The third story is about a girl who is "trapped" in this world. The last story is about a group who investigates the existence of spirits in a old house.

It's a Big Country

Comprised of eight unrelated episodes of inconsistent quality, this anthology piece of American propaganda features some of MGM Studios' best directors, screenwriters and actors; it is narrated by Louis Calhern. Stories are framed by the lecture of a university professor. In one tale a Boston resident becomes angry when the census forgets to record her presence. Another sketch chronicles the achievements of African Americans while still another pays tongue-in-cheek tribute to Texas.

Halb Zehn

At a Babelsberg studio, two German actors try to outdo each other with their Hollywood experiences. At a chic Düsseldorf café, two expatriate French women envy each other’s respective life. At a construction site somewhere in North Rhine-Westphalia, a foreman informs the supervising archaeologist that he as ordered the concrete without her approval. In a trendy Café in Ehrenfeld, Cologne, a recently departed meets a friend of his ex to obtain a box with things he’d left behind. A Dutch business consultant desperately tries to sell his inflated services to a Bulgarian arms contractor at Brussels Airport. On a rooftop in the Belgian Eifel, the owner and the future heir of a family workshop quietly discuss the recent passing of the family’s grandfather.

John Wig

An anthology of short films play while a man and woman on a date watch them on their laptop; John Wig finally meets a woman he likes. He visits her but gets drunk and passes out, leaving her to watch his last movie all by herself.

Digital Juice

A series of short animations that show different worlds and different characters. These episodes are designed to take the viewer into a psychological world of fantasy and mystery.

Episodic film consisting of three satirical shorts ('Smutný káder', 'Typický prípad' and 'Vel'korysá kampaň') comically exposing the shortcomings of society. In the interval between each short, a committee recognising themselves in the characters on screen, voice their approval or disapproval of each film.

Nine episodes about life in Italy in the period just before its economic boom.

Odd Noggins

The Oddness Begins... What is it about that horror movie on channel 12? Why do so many women in this small town work for the same party entertainment service? What is the significance of their bubble baths? Why so much yogurt? Where did that eyeball come from? Who is Bob? Odd Noggins is a strange trip into a small town where nothing is quite what it seems to be.

Woman Times Seven

Seven mini-stories of adultery: a widow misbehaves at her husband's funeral, a wife turns to streetwalking for revenge, a prudish girl surprises, a neglected wife vies for her husband's attention, a fight over a dress, a death pact, and a detective revealed as a jealous husband's spy.

Three shorts and three supplements tackle the central theme of 'compliance'. A wanna-be actress findsherself trapped between her traditional loyalty to her parents and her strong-willed director; a police officer and his robot sidekick resort to unorthodox methods to fight crime; a structuring of a PSA to promote social sensitivity is taken to absurd extremes.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs

Vignettes weaving together the stories of six individuals in the old West at the end of the Civil War. Following the tales of a sharp-shooting songster, a wannabe bank robber, two weary traveling performers, a lone gold prospector, a woman traveling the West to an uncertain future, and a motley crew of strangers undertaking a carriage ride.
