The scene is laid at the White House, the President's home. Looking down the broad avenue are seen two autos approaching it with great haste. One stops in front of the building and a man dressed in military clothes quickly ascends the broad steps. He is shown into the President's private office. The President is seen handing him a letter which is of a very secret and important nature. He is warned to be extremely careful and deliver it with utmost speed. Outside his machine is waiting.
While visiting Egypt, Mrs. Graham steals a famous jewel called "The Eye of the World" from a mummy's sarcophagus and returns to the United States, planning to use the gem as collateral for a loan. Kah, the priestess in charge of protecting the tombs of Egyptian nobility, is soon on her trail , determined to retrieve the gem. Mrs. Graham's lovely daughter, Betty, agrees to marry a suitor for money to prop up her father's failing business. Two pals enlist in the army during World War I. Just before they complete training camp and are to be sent overseas, they're scheduled to marry their girlfriends. However, they get in trouble and wind up in the guardhouse. Their girlfriends are determined to get married, however, and in order to accomplish this, they disguise themselves as soldiers and sneak onto the base, where they unwittingly get mixed up with enemy spies trying to gather information.
Tom Whitney, well connected but a social derelict because of his weakness for drink, is released from the draft because of an old football Injury, but a policeman persuades him that he can still do his bit in the shipyards. He takes a job in the yard owned by the man to whose daughter he was engaged in happier times. Three German propagandists seek to foment a strike to delay the work, and largely through Tom's efforts the plan goes amiss and the strike is called off. John Stuart Webster, mining engineer, having accumulated a fortune in Death Valley, Calif., starts for Denver. On the train is Dolores Ruey, a beautiful Spanish girl reared in the United States. Webster thrashes a travelling salesman who has been forcing his attentions on Dolores and thereby gains her admiration. Upon his arrival in Denver he leaves for Sobrante, Central America, to finance a mine found by his former protege, Billy Geary. Dolores is also bound for Sobrante. Her father, Don Ricardo Ruey, had been President of the Republic, until he was killed by revolutionists. They board the same train but Webster is seized with ptomaine poisoning and is removed to a hospital. Dolores is met by Billy Geary, who falls desperately in love with her. When he arrives. Webster does everything to give Geary a clear field, but after he has put Dolores' brother in the place his father held, he finds he has not only won a revolution, but a wife.
Steel millionaire John Blake buys the auctioned estate of the formerly wealthy Fairchilds to avenge his father, once the Fairchild's gardener, who died after being dismissed because John thrashed Andrew Whipple, a guest who tormented him. When John learns that Fairchild secretly paid for his education, he tries to repay him, but the proud Fairchild refuses. John marries Fairchild's daughter Eleanor, with whom he is infatuated, so that Fairchild can benefit, although Eleanor marries only for the half-million dollars involved. After Whipple returns and pursues Eleanor, John offers her a divorce if she will sign the money over to her father. When Whipple makes her suspect that John loves a young widow, Eleanor writes a note of farewell and leaves, but she is stopped by Whipple, who wanting to elope, embraces her. When John sees this and fights Whipple, Eleanor shields John from a bullet and is wounded. She recovers, and, learning that John loves her, declares her love.

Jimmy Martin, king of the motorcycle speedsters, visits the Kingdom of Mandavia for a race. There he is persuaded to impersonate the king by a traitor, Rodolph D'Henri, who intends to annex part of Mandavia for neighboring Selmarnia. The real king is in jail. D'Henri's plot is successful until Martin falls in love with Princess Margaret of Alvernia. Then he discloses his true identity, releases the real king, exposes the traitor, earns knighthood, and marries Margaret.
