The Airport Diary

Since relocation to Chek Lap Kok in 1998, passenger traffic at Hong Kong International Airport has increased threefold in twenty-five years. And Yeung Sheung-wai, who started out as a clerk, has been promoted to IAC Duty Manager. He is tasked with overseeing the operations of the airport. Sheung-wai also has a contingent of amicable partners, including his assistant-cum-admirer Fong Ho-yee, Lui Chi-shan – who handles airport passenger services – Chan Kit – who takes care of aviation security – and Lee Sing-cheung, who is responsible for apron services. They collaborate to assist in dealing with all kinds of incidents that take place at the airport. Sheung-wai keeps in touch with his ex-wife Cheung Yeuk-ling, Metro Harbour Airlines Airport Supervisor. Actually, they still think of each other after their divorce. The duo’s relationship is rekindled when airline captain Kwok Kai-kwong and flight attendant Ko Nga-man turn up.

Men Don't Cry is a TVB period comedy series broadcast in October 2007, to celebrate TVB's 40th Anniversary. The shown was rerun from Thursday, January 29, 2009 to February 26, 2009 from Monday to Friday at 12:05am on TVB Jade in Hong Kong. The Chinese title is a reference to Shi Jian, who had played as villains in many Wong Fei Hung movies featuring Kwan Tak Hing as Wong Fei Hung, and later in TVB's television series. Reversing the trends set by previous Wong Fei Hung stories, the title archvillain assumes the leading role of the series, with Wong Fei Hung as the supporting role.

It is one of the longest running drama shows in Hong Kong television history. Its exceptional longevity still amazes people in a city where scripted TV drama programs typically only last around 20 episodes. The total number of episodes is 1,128. Each episode airs a few days in each week. The show centres on a family who operates a barbecue pork restaurant in Happy Valley, Hong Kong, and their life.

Yellowthread Street

Yellowthread Street is a 1990 ITV police procedural developed by Ranald Graham. Adapted from the novels by William Leonard Marshall, the thirteen episode series revolves around the Triad-busting cases of a group of Royal Hong Kong Police Force detectives, based in the colony’s Yellowthread precinct. Despite being a critical and ratings hit, Yellowthread Street never caught on, perhaps the result of the exotic setting and expensive production (it was shot on 35mm). It also seemed caught between two eras: conceived in the 1980s and produced at the turn of that decade, its philosophy and look seemed a little dated compared to other modern shows of the genre (i.e. The Bill).

The Line Watchers

The story is based on the future events of the plot of Vampire Expert, a similar two-season television drama aired on ATV in 1995 and 1996. The series is a tribute to Lam Ching-ying, the lead actor of Vampire Expert and a prominent cast member in the Mr. Vampire franchise, who died of liver cancer in 1997.
