The Idiots Who Started The Party

Danish film has never felt stronger on the international stage than it did with the Dogme films, which at the world premiere of 'The Party' and 'The Idiots' during the Cannes Film Festival in 1998 put Denmark on the film world map. Another eight films under the strict Dogme rules followed and created great international careers for several of the talents in front of and behind the handheld camera. Thomas Vinterberg, Søren Kragh-Jacobsen, Paprika Steen, Ulrich Thomsen, Trine Dyrholm, Iben Hjejle, Anders W. Berthelsen, Lone Scherfig, Sonja Richter and many more of the country's greatest filmmakers look back on when Denmark became Dogme.

Rock 'n' Roll Frankenstein

The movie follows Bernie, a record producer who persuades his nephew Frankie to create a new rock star that will help Bernie overcome his work related ennui. Iggy, the burnt out roadie pillages the graves of various celebrities such as Buddy Holly, Jimi Hendrix, and Sid Vicious, using the head of Elvis Presley to top things off. All goes according to plan until a mishap leads Iggy to steal Liberace's private parts instead of those of Jim Morrison. The monster is brought to life and is on the road to rock 'n' roll success when the Liberace side of the monster begins to assert itself, with tragic results. The result: a monster (Guggenheim) with the sex drive of a macho rock star and the sexual orientation of Liberace.

Blessed Assurance: The Life and Music of Fanny Crosby

This dramatic music video highlights Fanny Crosby’s most popular songs, including "Blessed Assurance," "Pass Me Not," "Praise Him! Praise Him!," "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," "Rescue the Perishing," "He Hideth My Soul," "Near the Cross," and "Tell Me the Story of Jesus." Beautifully scored with a full chorus by Janet Maish Thomas, the arranger portrays the “blind poetess of song,” who penned over 8,000 of America’s most beloved hymns. D. Paul Thomas, playwright and actor, serves as our narrator, taking us on a compelling journey of tragedy and triumph, revealing a fully-human Fanny Crosby who overcomes the obstacles of her life by the power of God’s grace.

Rich and Scary: Independent Soap Movie Experience

A soap opera inspired by 80s dramas, following German mogul Michaela von Baer as she battles enemies to protect her company, “Von Baer Enterprises.” Her cousin, Russian starlet Clarissa Oktavia, is presumed dead by her psychiatrist, Dr. Ingolf Robert, but returns alive. Michaela’s nemesis, policewoman Penelope Stöcker, seeks revenge for her father’s suicide. Michaela loses everything and returns to Monaco. Police Inspector Brigitte Hasentritt, who investigated Clarissa’s murder, becomes a central figure, marrying one of Michaela’s ex-husbands, owning most of the company, and facing vampires and attack dogs. By the series’ end, all characters are vampires, crossdressers, or insane. The finale shows Clarissa being eaten by Penelope and Brigitte, Dr. Robert impersonating Clarissa, and Michaela dying from choking on a cheeseburger.
