Ireland, Easter, 1916. In Dublin, Irish rebel Patrick Pearse leads a revolt to free Ireland from the grips of the British Empire. Owen, a young Irish patriot, wants to join them in their fight for freedom.

Short humorous sketches. The first is called "solid character", and it describes the history of a tough chick, which was brought to a hairdresser for the first time. The second is about the uncomplicated life of a bird, which, however, did not prevent her from publishing own memoirs. The last story, "Fathers and Sons" tells of the relationship of adults and offspring.

The Little White Camel

The story takes place in Uzbekistan. A girl is traveling to visit her grandfather. The train stops at a small, remote station surrounded by sand dunes. There, at the station, a little white, lonely camel calf is wandering around. He meets the girl and offers to guide her straight through the dunes to her grandfather’s house, which he knows. Along the way, the new friends meet other desert dwellers.
