It was first aired on the BBC in 1991 in three episodes of 55 minutes. It was set in a remote part of rural County Donegal where a landlord of a pub murders his barmen. First broadcast in 2004, as of 2010 the programme comprises eight series with a ninth and final series planned for 2012.
