This six-part series follows the adventures of a gibbon expert battling to save Borneo’s threatened wildlife and using a very special radio station to do it. Chanee Brule is a young French zookeeper who has been fascinated by gibbons since childhood. Ten years ago he headed the call of the wild and left France for Indonesia. Determined to save Borneo’s gibbons – the magical singing apes of the forest – from extinction, he is responsible for the biggest gibbon rescue and rehabilitation program in Indonesia. His efforts are boosted by his role as lead DJ on Kalimantan’s most popular radio stations nicknamed “Radio Gibbon”. If that wasn’t enough, he’s in the process of building a new television studio – Gibbon MTV – where wild music and wildlife will collide.

Saved By The Barn

Dan McKernan relocated from Austin, Texas, to take over his family's 140-year-old farm in Michigan and transform it into the "Barn Sanctuary," a place for farm animals that have experienced abuse, neglect and more; the show follows Dan and his family as they learn the ropes of their new life on the farm and give the barnyard animals a second chance at life; it also documents his travels across the country to rescue barn animals.

Orangutan Island

Orangutan Island is an American documentary television series, in the style of the successful series Meerkat Manor, that blends more traditional documentary filming with dramatic narration. The series was produced by NHNZ with creator Judith Curran also acting as the series producer. Animal Planet's Martha Ripp is the executive producer of the series, and Lone Drøscher Nielsen of the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation, the founder and manager of the Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Reintroduction Project, regularly appears with the orangutans in the show. The series premiered on Animal Planet on November 2, 2007, with new episodes airing Friday nights. A second season began airing in November 2008. The show focuses on a group of orphaned orangutans at the Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Rescue and Rehabilitation Center that are raised to go against their normally independent nature and instead cooperate and live together in a society so they can be left to live wild on their protected island.

Among the Apes

Among The Apes gets up close and personal to four of the best known primate species. It features three apes -mountain gorillas, orang-utans and chimpanzees - and baboons, a monkey species living in the woody and grassy African habitats similar to the home of early man.

Monkey Life

Monkey Life was created in 2006 and has continuously documented the work of Dr. Alison Cronin, MBE and her team at Monkey World; Ape Rescue Centre. Filmed at Monkey World in Dorset, Monkey Life follows the rescue and rehabilitation of abused and neglected primates. Many have mental as well as physical problems so the Primate Care Staff treat their individual needs until they can be reintegrated with primates of their own kind. The primates at the park range from apes, who were taken from the wild as babies and used as photographers props on Spanish beaches to monkeys, many of which were rescued from the UK pet trade. With unparalleled access Monkey World's dedicated team are filmed dealing with medical emergencies, primate moves, births and sometimes heart-breaking decisions. We follow Dr. Alison Cronin, MBE around the globe as she continues the park's mission to rescue abused primates.
